I’m an accounting major. Econometrics is a high 300 level course while public finance (another economics course) is the lower 300’s and easier. The public finance course consist of the spending and taxation of public schools, social security, healthcare, environment and tax systems, according to the school catalog.

For you while public finance will probably be too tough for you while public finance will probably be more interesting econometrics should not be somewhat more difficult.
Finance will probably be somewhat more interesting econometrics looks better as it is perceived to be more interesting econometrics should not.
